Debbie Wilson
Gourd art is something I "fell into" after basket weaving for several years. As an art teacher, I could see endless possibilities for this hard shelled natural object. I have woven, wood burned, carved, imbedded objects and stones and painted on gourds for close to ten years - still learning and creating along the way.

I am a self-taught rotary carver and am currently learning how to chip carve and work with various gouges to achieve interesting textures. Recently retired from teaching in the public school, I am busy teaching private classes, entering art shows, and discovering the possibilities that lie in the uniquiness of gourd art.
